York Street studio · by appointment
A life does not arrive as a single name. It arrives as a journey, and the journey can be set down.
People come to the paper room on York Street when a question about identity will not stay in conversation. A child has asked how the family came to be here. A retirement has made an old trade feel unfinished. A citizenship ceremony is a week away and the person in the queue still cannot say, in one breath, who they have been.
Identity Canvas Core conducts identity journey sittings. We listen, we read the papers a sitter is willing to put on the table, and we analyse how an identity has been applied — at a worksite, in a parish, at a kitchen table, in a language that was kept or dropped. The work is human, slow, and committed to paper.
If you want a sitting, write to the studio with the span of years you care about and the papers you already hold. We will tell you whether a canvas, an opening sitting, or an applied identity review is the right first page.
